Client: City of Bexley
Completed: 2018
The City of Bexley hired Environmental Remediation Contractor as the Environmental General Contractor for this project to remediate the former Sunoco petroleum service station. Gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) were previously removed; however, historical releases had contaminated both soil and groundwater at the site. The remedial activities for this project included excavation and off-site disposal of petroleum contaminated soils, as well as the addition of oxygen-releasing amendments to the exposed groundwater to stimulate microbial growth and enhance contaminant degradation. ERC excavated and hauled off-site over 7,500 tons of impacted soil to a Subtitle D facility for disposal. During the project, ERC encountered an additional unknown UST which we also disposed of. The site was restored by the placement of topsoil, seeding & mulching.
